Japan-America Society DFW Mochitsuki New Year’s Celebration

The Japan-America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth is hosting our 12th annual Mochitsuki New Year’s Celebration on January 15th, 2012. Bring the family to this annual festival presented by the Japan-America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth featuring Japanese New Year traditions. Performers include Kotokai Aikido, Kotomi-kai Koto Ensemble, Dallas Kiyari Daiko, Cherry Blossom Chorus, and Daffron Kids Yosakoi Dancers. Watch rice being pounded for mochi (rice cakes), a treat you can sample with various toppings (including Sendai specialty kurumi,walnut paste).  There will also be cultural activities, displays, and traditional games for children.
